Can't quite believe that it is now halfway through March (and I have a 15year old!?!) life has certainly been busy but I am very happy to say that life at the studio has been pretty good!
Workshops have been going really well, with the Family sessions over Christmas and Half term nearly selling out! This made me do a little happy dance I can tell you, it was brilliant to see the workshop full, the bench covered in clay and tools and to see people interacting with each other.
I have really enjoyed seeing how different people put their own stamp on a project and their imaginations get to work.
The sessions over half term were a particular favourite with toadstools, lighthouses and woodland homes being made. If you fancy joining in with the next one, it is going to be on Wednesday 11 April - more details on the website.
It has been great to share the workshop with a couple of ceramicist's this month too as part of the open access - rent-a-space sessions that I offer. I love having lots of space but I have realised that I miss working alongside other makers, having the "ah this is driving me mad" conversations and the "what on earth and I doing" ones too! My hope is that over this year a community of makers will be built, one that we can all contribute to and support each other through, culminating in a Christmas open studio sale of all our work - watch this space! Reading this back through, its turned into more of a newsletter and catch up rather than my thoughts or opinions, sorry about that. I guess I am a bit thought out at the moment but I hope that you have enjoyed reading the news anyway? Becks x
